Okay, back by popular demand, it's Hooray for Anything. And, why, praytell are we going again? Because I'm unemployed again!

Hooray for me.

Why am I unemployed again? Long story, suffice it to say typical Hooray for Anything luck in that it involved at least four or five things to go wrong simultaneously to create this situation.

And to start us off, here's my unemployed pet peeve: companies that make you fill out several online forms to apply for a jobs.

Here's how it works, you get a link to the site and the first thing you have to do is to log in and if you aren't already logged in, you have to open up an account. I do not want to open up a new account. I have hundreds of accounts out there and I do not want more. Plus, all I want is to send over my fucking resume, not join a big social-networking group of said company.

So after going through the rigamorale of signing up, you have to go through field after field to enter all the corresponding information. Again, all information that could be determined if one could just send a resume (most places actually want you to fill all the crap out, and then ask for the resume). So I have to go through page after page, filling out information and there's always one field I miss so I have to go back and redo things or get stuck on one page and in the case of one place, got stuck in such a loop I gave up because I had already wasted fifteen minutes trying to log in.

Then there's the case of a place I applied to today in which I apparently had already set up an account despite the fact I had no idea I set up an account there because I had never heard of the place. So I had to first guess my account name, then my password, for which I could not, of course remember despite the fact I usually only three and just rotate them all over the place, and so had to request a password. Finally, I got in. In this site, I had to first upload my resume, and then a page later cut and paste my resume into a box. Now, why the fuck would I have to do both?

Gack.
