Few things from today at work:
Flowers were delivered to the front desk and when I came in from a break, I heard the person with whom the flowers were intended tell the security guard "I don't like these flowers. They're from my ex-husband and we got divorced eight years ago."
Second, I was wondering why can't every voice mail system standardize their codes? One VM system uses 3 as their way to listen to messages. Another 1. And another 7. And to delete, one is 3 and another 6 and so on and so forth. As a result, it's impossible to remember which code goes with which phone and I'm sure I'm not the only one to get impatient and press in the number they remember most and accidently delete their voice mail message. And why is it that some services make you have to listen to the whole message before being able to delete it? I got a phone call this morning from somebody calling in on a Sunday to wish their tennis partner good luck in their doubles match. I did not play in a doubles match. In fact, I don't play tennis and had no idea who called. Yet, I still had to listen to the message despite the fact I knew within seconds it wasn't for me.
